  1. Hamid El-Abeydi  - February 1970-Minister of Defense during the reign of Idris:He was arrested immediately after the coup, and died under arrest due to ill treatment and was barred from medical treatment.

  2. Mahmoud El-Muntaser – September 1970 – Prime minister during the reign of Idris: He was arrested immediately after the coup, and died under arrest due to neglect and was barred from medical treatment.

  3. Emhemed Ahmed El-Harati – October 1970 – A Captain in the Libyan Armed Forces and a member of the Free Officers: He was killed in a planned car crash due to suspicions about his loyalty, and his discontent with Gaddafi.

  4. Mohamed El-Areify – October 1970 – An employee for one of the foreign airlines operating in Tripoli. He was killed in the same planned car crash as Emhemed El-Harati.

  5. Ateeh El-Kasah – November 1970 – A Captain of the Libyan Armed Forces and a member of the Free Officers – He was killed in a planned car crash due to suspicions regarding his loyalty to the regime.

  6. Ali Abdullah Wareeth – December 1970 –  Editor-in-Chief of the Libyan newspaper “El-Balagh El-Libie”  - He was also killed in a planned car crash because of rumors of him possessing too much information on the secrets and operations of the September 1st Coup

  7. Mohamed Tahir El-Qatrooney – December 1970 – Immigration Officer – He tortured to death in the Central Tripoli Prison. He was convicted of being involved in the first coup attempt against Gaddafi in Sebha during 1970.

  8. Bouhaleeqa Dakheel El-Shreydi – December 1970 – A Lieutenant in the Armed Forces – He was tortured to death in the Central Tripoli Prison for his alleged involvement in the attempt on Gaddafi in Sebha during 1970.

  9. Moftah Suleiman Bushah – July 1971 – infomander of the Security Forces during the reign of King Idris – He was arrested immediately after the coup of 1969 and died as a result of negligence, ill-treatment and lack of medical attention while he was under arrest.

  10. Mohamed Saif El-Nasr – October 1971 – The Sheikh of the Awlad Suleiman tribe – He was arrested immediately after the military coup of 1969. He died under arrest due to neglect and a lack of medical attention

  11. Abdul-Hameed El-Mabrook El-MajryNovember 1971 –Member of the Armed forces. He was convicted for being a conspirator in the 1970 assassination attempt on Gaddafi. He was severely tortured and was killed as a result. His body was sent to his family in a closed box, and the burial took place under the watchful eye of the security forces.

  12. Moftah El FakhryDecember 1971 – A Lieutenant in the Armed Forces – He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime; he had a reputation of bravery and frankness.

  13.  Emhemed Abu Bakr El Mgeryif – August 21st 1972 – A captain in the Libyan Armed Forces and a member of the Revolutionary infomand Council. He was killed in a planned car crash in light of Gaddafi’s discovery of his plot to kill Gaddafi.

  14. Omar Sa’eed Suleiman1973 – A Major in the Armed Forces. He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime.

  15. Yousef El-Azmarli – December 21st 1975 – One of the administrators in the Ministry of Oil. He was killed at the OPEC meeting in Vienna by the infamous Venezuelan terrorist Carlos. Carlos the Jackal was hired by Gaddafi to kill some, and kidnap officials at the OPEC meeting.

  16. Muwafaq El KheyaatJanuary 4th 1976 – A student from Syria. He was killed by Gaddafi’s security forces that had opened fire on a peaceful student demonstration in the city of Benghazi.

  17. Bashir El Tawrghy El Menqoosh – January 7th 1976 – A student at the College of Nursing in Benghazi. He was killed by Gaddafi’s security forces that had opened fire on a peaceful student demonstration in Benghazi.

  18. Faraj Moftah Bin Ali March 5th 1976 – A Lieutenant in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was a resident of Al Beydha, and was killed in prison due to the severe torture for his alleged part in El-Muhayshi’s coup attempt of August 1975. (El-Muhayshi was a member of the RCC, he had tried to overthrow Gaddafi in August of 1975)

  19. Mohamed Faraj El ToomiMarch 20th 1976 – A Captain of the Armed Forces from Tripoli. He died as a result of the critical skull injuries he received after being tortured a number of times by the security forces.

  20. Ahmed Faraj El Breghthi – May 1976 - A Lieutenant in the Armed Forces. A native of the city of Maraj, he was convicted of conspiring in the August 1975 attempt on Gaddafi and was tortured to death in prison.

  21. Adam AbdulSamee’ El Bar’asi – 1976 – A Lieutenant in the Armed Forces. Another native from the city of Maraj, he was convicted of conspiring in the August 1975 attempt on Gaddafi and was tortured to death in prison.

  22. Sadiq Barkah – 1976 – A captain in the Armed Forces. He was killed inside the Barracks of el-Abyar on suspicion of him participating in armed struggle against the Gaddafi regime.

  23. Ahmed Abdullah Buleefa – August 1976 – A captain in the Armed Forces. He was killed by the security forces at the Tunisian-Libyan border trying to evade imprisonment for his participation in the August 1975 attempt on Gaddafi.

  24. Mohamed El Asfar – August 1976 – A corporal in the armed forces. He was killed by security forces at the Tunisian-Libyan border trying to evade imprisonment for his participation in the August 1975 on Gaddafi.

  25. Khalifa Salem El Astaa –  Decemeber 1976 - He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his participation in action against the regime.

  26. AbdulMajeed Mohamed El Menqoosh – April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  27. Omar Othman Al Khadhar – April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  28. Mustafa Mohamed El Manqoosh – April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  29. Ali Mohamed Qashoot - April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  30. Ali Ahmed Bin Sa’ood - April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  31. Mohamed El Sadiq Salem - April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi. At first he was sentenced to prison, but the decision was changed by Gaddafi.

  32. Khalifa Hussein El Faqi - April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi. At first he was sentenced to prison, but the decision was changed by Gaddafi.

  33. Mohamed Abdussalam El Mansoori - April 2nd 1977 – A captain in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  34. Mohamed Salem El Barghathi - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  35. Abdulraheem Ahmed Burge’a - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  36. Hamid Yousef Elqandooz - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  40. Ahmed Deyab Abdurrahman - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  41. Imraan Ali El Daeeky - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  42. Faraj Abdussalam El Amaari - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  43. Eessaa Mohamed Karuwat - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  44. Salih Abdullah El Qalooss - April 2nd 1977 - He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi. At first he was sentenced to prison, but the decision was changed by Gaddafi.

  45. AbdulWahid Abdullah El Shlowey - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  46. Ali ElSadiq El Bar’asi - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces and a member of the Free Officers movement. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi.

  47. Ali Suleiman ElShawish - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi. At first he was sentenced to prison, but the decision was changed by Gaddafi.

  48. AbdulHakeem Ibraheem Najm - April 2nd 1977 – A lieutenant in the armed forces. He was sentenced to death by firing squad for his alleged participation in the 1975 attempt to overthrow Gaddafi. At first he was sentenced to prison, but the decision was changed by Gaddafi.

  50. Omar Ali Daboob – April 7th 1977 – A Teacher; he was sentenced to death by hanging in front of thousands in the city of Benghazi. His crime was participation in the student demonstration in January of 1976; Gaddafi himself was present at the execution.

  51. Mohamed AlTayyib Bin Sa’ood – April 7th 1977 – He was sentenced to death by hanging in public in the city of Benghazi. His crime was participation in the student demonstration in January of 1976; Gaddafi himself was present at the execution.

  52. Omar El Sadiq Elwarfelli –  April 7th 1977 - An artisan; he was hanged in front of thousands in the city of Benghazi. He was convicted for ‘destructive’ anti-revolutionary behavior.

  53. Mahmood Abdullateef El Menqoosh – July 1977 – Master Sergeant in the Libyan armed forces. He was executed by firing squad for participating in action against the regime.

  54. Taha El Shareef Bin ‘Aamir – March 6th 1978 – Minister of infomunications; he was killed in the planned helicopter crash that targeted an East-German diplomat that was visiting Libya.

  55. Ahmed Abu Shaqur – March 6th 1978 - He died in the same planned helicopter crash that targeted a top East-German diplomat who had been visiting Libya.

  56. Tawfiq Abdulmajeed Bin Sa’ood - March 28th 1978 – A legal adviser. He was killed in his home by an explosion.

  57. Al Sadeeq Busnenah – October 7th 1979 – Lieutenant Pilot in the Libyan Air Force. He was killed in a planned airplane crash on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime.

  58. Aamir El Tahir ElDagheess – Late February 1980 – A legal adviser and a native of Tripoli, Aamir was also a key member in the Ba’ath Party and the general trustee of the party in Libya. He was once arrested in 1973 for 4 months, and then released. He was arrested once more on the 24th of February, and his body was returned to his home on the 28th of February in a wooden coffin.

  59. Mohamed Faraj Hamee – March 1980 – Also a legal adviser, he was from the city of Benghazi and also a member of the Ba’ath Party in Libya. He too was arrested in 1973 for a short time and was later released. His was then arrested again in march of 1980, and days after his arrest his body, in a wooden box, was returned to his home in Benghazi.

  60. Mohamed Hassan ElSagheer – March 1980 – A lawyer from the Libyan city of Misurata. He was a member of the Ba’ath Party of Libya and was arrested in February of 1980. His body was returned to his home in a wooden box in March 1980.

  61. Ali Salem ElAbeydi – March 17th 1980 – Owner of an electrical consulting infopany. He was killed by the revolutionary infomittees in the city of Tubruq.

  62. Amraji’ Musa ElHasnoni – March 17th 1980 – Businessman – He was killed in a clash by the revolutionary infomittees in the city of Tubruq.

  63. Khamees Ehmeyda ElHasnoni – March 17th 1980 – Businessman. He was killed in a clash by the revolutionary infomittees in the city of Tubruq.

  64. Salim ElRteymi – March 21st 1980 – Businessman. He was found dead in the trunk of his car in Rome, Italy. He had previously eluded an attempt to kidnap him by the revolutionaries in February. After the incident, a Libyan man was arrested by Italian police in direct connection with the murder.

  65. Dr. Mahmood Banoon – April 1980 – Engineer. He was released from prison in April 1980. Days after his release, he died due to severe injuries sustained during his prison sentence.

  66. Mohamed Mustafa Ramadan – April 11th 1980 – Reporter and Journalist in the Arabic division of London TV. He was murdered by Gaddafi’s thugs in cold blood after leaving the Friday Prayer at Regent Park Mosque in London. Gaddafi refused to allow his body to be buried in Libya, and it was returned to London for burial. The perpetrators were apprehended immediately after the incident and were sentenced to life.

  67. AbdulJaleel El’Aarif –April 19th 1980 – Businessman. He was killed by Gaddafi’s followers in Rome, Italy. A list of ‘traitors’ was dispatched to the Libyan People’s Bureau in Rome, and declared the action was a matter of ‘national defense’. Unfortunately for Abdul-Jaleel, he was also on that list.

  68. Abdullateef ElMuntaser – April 21st 1980 – Businessman. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men in Beirut, Lebanon. He was wanted for collaborating with Muhayshi in the attempt on Gaddafi in 1975.

  69. Mahmood Abdussalam Nafi’ – April 21st 1980 – Lawyer. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men in his office in London. Libyan suspects were arrested in connection and were sentenced to life in prison.

  70. Abdullah Mohamed ElKhazmey – May 8th 1980 – Businessman. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men in the central train station in Rome, Italy. His body was refused by the Libyan authorities from burial in Libya, and the culprits escaped.

  71. Omraan ElMehdawy – May 8th 1980 – Former Libyan Diplomat. He was murdered by Gaddafi’s men in the city of Bonn in West Germany. West German police managed to arrest the assassin, and sentenced him to life in prison on December 22nd 1980.

  72. Mohammed Fu’aad BuHajar – May 20th 1980 – Businessman. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men in Rome. His stabbed and strangled body was discovered in his hotel room; the assassin(s) were never found.

  73. AbuBakr Abdurrahman – May 21st 1980 – A former officer in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was found slaughtered in his home in an Athenian suburb, Greece. The culprit was apprehended and sentenced to death; but the sentence was then changed to life in prison.

  74. Izzeddin ElHaderey – June 11th 1980 – Businessman. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men in the city of Milan, Italy. The Italian police were never able to find the assassin.

  75. Idris ElShareef ElShaheybi – August 5th 1980 – A captain in the Libyan Armed Forces in Tubruq. He was killed in a struggle by Gaddafi’s men who had infoe to arrest him. El Shaheybi’s driver was also killed in the struggle.

  76. Ahmed Abdussalam BuRgeyba – November 29th 1980 – A student. He was killed by Gaddafi’s agents in the city of Manchester, England. However, within 2 hours of the crime, the culprit was found and arrested.

  77. AbdulMajeed Hussein Bareebsh – 1980 – A captain in the Libyan Armed Forces. He died in prison after being subject to severe torture. It was alleged that he had been involved in the coup attempt against Gaddafi in 1975.

  78. Lotfi Amgeeg – December 1980 – A pharmacy student. He had participated in events on November 16th 1980 against the government and the invasion of Chad that took place at the Engineering Faculty. The students refused to go for military service and Chad. Lotfi was tortured to death in prison.

  79. Abdurrahman Byoodh - December 1980 – A pharmacy student. He participated in the anti-war, anti-military protest on Nov. 16th 1980 at the Engineering Faculty. He died in prison under severe torture.

  80. El Sheikh Mohamed ElBashti – December 1980 – An Imam of Masjid El-Qasr in Tripoli. He was arrested at the Masjid (mosque) on November 21st 1980, after the Afternoon prayer. One of Gaddafi’s agents, Abdussalam Elzadama, in fact lit the Imam’s beard on fire during the interrogation. He died in December after being subject to severe torture.

  81. Naji Musbaah – December 1980 – Engineering Student. He was tortured to death in prison after his arrest in the assault on Masjid El-Qasr by the revolutionary infomittees on November 21st 1980.

  82. Moftah ElAmeen Abid-Rubbah – January 1981 – An Automotive Shop Owner in Tubruq, Libya. He was tortured to death in prison on suspicion that he was involved with a major in the military in a plot to overthrow the government.

  83. Tawfeeq El’Aqrooei – January 1981 – Businessman. He was arrested on suspicion that he was taking part in anti-government activity. He was tortured to his death in prison.

  84. Ali Khalifa ElMagrhi – January 1981 – An officer in the Security Forces of Benghazi. He was arrested for being involved in a small group of officers who opposed the government. He was killed in prison.

  85. Fawzi Mukhtar ElMsalati – January 1981 – Lieutenant in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime.

  86. El Sanusi El Ateyosh – January 30th 1981 – infomander of the Libyan Armed Forces during the reign of King Idris and an in-law of Captain Ahmed Mgeryif (member of the RCC). He was suspected of being involved with a plot to overthrow the government, and so Gaddafi’s security forces poisoned him Athens, Greece.

  87. AbdulHameed Abdussalam Elreeshi – May 28th 1981 – A Captain in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was severely injured in Chad, and was relieved from the front. He went to Rome for treatment, but his health was far from improved. On a visit to the Libyan Embassy in Rome, security forces opened fire on him from behind while he was sitting with the ambassador Amaar Dhoe; both men were killed.

  88. Khalifa Melaad ElKmeyti – August 1981 – A school teacher. He died in prison under severe torture.

  89. Moftah ElSanusi Kheirullah – October 7th 1981 – Lieutenant in the Air Force. His jet was tampered with and crashed to his death on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime.

  90. ElSaadiq Shladi – 1981 – A businessman from El-Zawiyah, Libya. He was killed in prison.

  91. Muneer Dozan – November 1981 – A University Student. He was arrested in December of 1980, and was tortured until his death in November 1981.

  92. Moftah AbidRubbah Elmreymi – 1981 – A businessman from Tubruq, Libya. He died in prison after being subject to severe torture after being arrested for alleged involvement in a plot to kill Gaddafi.

  93. Mohamed Hussein ElBar’asi – 1981 – A captain in the Libyan Armed Forces. He died in prison from torture and neglect for alleged involvement in the coup attempt of 1975. He was originally sentenced to 6 years in prison, but instead was tortured to death.

  94. ElRamaah BuShofah – 1982 – A Major in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was killed by 3 other members of the Armed Forces; Gaddafi thought him to be disloyal.

  95. Mahmood Sh’eyb ElSultani – 1982 – A school teacher and a traditional poet. He was arrested for writing a number of songs and poems against the regime. He died in prison under torture and neglect. The famous General Hassan Ishkal, an in-law of Gaddafi, personally finished the job. (Ishkal was killed by Gaddafi in 1985)

  96. Salih El Kateymi – August 1982 – A university student. He was arrested by security forces during a protest in April of 1982. He was tortured to his death in August of 1982.

  97. Naji Buhoya Khaleef – August 1982 – A university student. He was arrested at the same protest in 1982, and died in prison after being subject to severe torture.

  98. Ahmed Ismael Makhloof – 1982 – A university student. He was arrested during a protest in April 1982 and was tortured to his death sometime during 1982.

  99. Najmeldeen Elyazji – January 16th 1983 – A infomander in the Air Forces. His fighter jet was downed in a planned crash on suspicion that he was plotting against the regime.

  100. Najeeb El Tayyib – January 16th 1983 – A major in the Air Forces. He was killed in the same fighter jet as ElYazji.

  101. Salih Abu Frowah – January 1983 – A member of the Armed Forces. He worked in the intelligence sector of the Army and was suspected of leaking military secrets. He was killed by security forces while on an official visit to Romania.

  102. Mohamed Muhathab Hafaaf – April 7th 1983 – An engineering student in Tripoli. He was arrested in 1983 for being in a group known as the Islamic Freedom Party. He was hanged publicly in the courtyard of the Engineering Faculty.

  103. Salih Ali Elzaroog ElNawal – October 1983 – A school teacher. He was killed in prison for being a member of the Islamic Freedom Party. At first he had been sentenced to a jail sentence, but the decision was overturned by the ‘revolutionary courts’ that sentenced him to death.

  104. Ali ElFerjani – 1983 – Businessman. He was sentenced to death by the revolutionary court for making contact with the Libyan opposition outside Libya.

  105. Hussein Dakheel – 1983 – Businessman. He was arrested during a series of many in Libya that the military police had undertaken. He was killed in prison under severe torture.

  106. Abreek ElTashaani – 1983 – A infomander in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his loyalty to Gaddafi.

  107. Mohamed ElSudani – 1983 – Lieutenant in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was killed by Gaddafi’s men based on allegations that he was taking part in action against the regime.

  108. Mustafa Moftah Bin Omraan – January 27th 1984 – Businessman. He was arrested on his return from outside Libya in early January 1984. He was tortured to death at the ‘April 7th Barracks’ in Benghazi. The regime asserted that he was funding the Libyan opposition.

  109. AbdulAziz Mohamed ElGhrabli – January 28th 1984 - A university student. He was arrested in April of 1983 based on suspicion that he was a member of an underground political party. Subject to extreme torture, he was also denied medical attention for nearly a year until his death.

  110. Omar Abdullah ElMuheyshi – January 1984 – Major in the Libyan Armed Forces and a member of the original RCC. He attempted a coup against Gaddafi in 1975 to no avail, and managed to escape to Morocco. At the time, Morocco was at odds with Gaddafi, but later they arrested El Mheyshi and sent him back to Libya. Not long after he arrived in Libya was he subject to the worst methods of torture, and finally killed. Furthermore, Gaddafi did not allow his body to be buried.

  111. Mohamed Bilal – January 1984 – A infomander in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was gunned down in shady circumstances in the city of Derna; Gaddafi was not satisfied with Bilal’s loyalty.

  112. Noori Mohamed ElWaddani – 1984 – Government Employee. He was arrested in early 1984 for making contact with the National Front for the Salvation of Libya (an opposition organization working outside Libya). He was tortured for some time, and later executed by order of the revolutionary infomittees.

  113. Mohamed Omar ElN’ass – February 1984 – A lawyer from Tripoli. He was arrested in April of 1983 upon being suspected of membership to the Islamic Freedom Party. He was killed in the Central Tripoli Prison after a retrial by the revolutionary infomittees sentenced him to death.

  114. AbdulRaof Abdullah - March 1984 – Military intelligence soldier. He was tortured to death after being arrested at ‘Barakah’ Barracks in Benghazi.

  115. Abdullah Abu ElQasim ElMsalati – April 1984 – He was arrested on April 16th 1983 during a series of mass arrests the revolutionary infomittees were conducting after the Zwara Speech of Gaddafi. Hundreds of students, writers, intellectuals, group or party members were arrested at this time. He was charged with being a member of the Islamic Freedom Party, and was given a prison sentence. However, the decision was overturned a year later and the punishment was death. His body was never returned for burial.

  116. Hassan Ahmed ElKurdi – Government Employee. He was arrested along with 500 others in April 1973. In June of that year, he was given a court date along with 9 others on charges of being members of the Islamic Freedom Party, and writings and sayings against the situation of the country. Six months later on December 7th 1973, an order was given from the RCC to put an end to the court process. That decision was again overturned and he was given a court appearance in February of 1977 where he was given 25 years. This decision was overturned, and he was given life in prison; but he was killed in prison in April of 1984 without a hearing.

  117. Hafidh ElMadani – April 16th 1984 – Student from Tripoli. He was arrested following the student action at the Engineering Faculty at Tripoli University on November 16th 1980. He was hanged in front of the public at the courtyard of the Agricultural Faculty.

  118. Rashid Mansur Ka’bar – April 16th 1984 – Student from Tripoli. He was arrested following the student action at the Engineering Faculty at Tripoli University. He was convicted of being a follower of Sheikh El-Bashti (see #79). The revolutionary infomittees sentenced him to death by hanging in public; it took place in front of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The student body was ordered to witness the event.

  119. Mustafa Arhoma ElNuweiri – April 21st 1984 – President of the Student Union during the 1975-76 school year. He was a student of Law at Benghazi University, but was expelled and arrested in 1976. After being released, he was arrested again in 1980. The revolutionary infomittees sentenced him to death, and did so in the central courtyard of Benghazi University with every student and staff member present by order.

  120. Ahmed Ibrahim Ahwass – May 6th 1984 - A former ambassador and a member of the National Front for the Salvation of Libya; and leader of its military wing. He was killed in armed clashes with Gaddafi’s soldiers near the Libyan town of Zwara.

  121. Khaled Ali Yahya Muammar – May 8th 1984 – A teacher. A member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed at the clash of Bab-El-Aziziyah between NFSL forces and Gaddafi’s Guard. (Bab-El-Aziziyah is the military infopound of Gaddafi; the NFSL leader was killed 2 days prior, but the NFSL went ahead with the attack)

  122. AbdulNasir Abdullah ElDahra – May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army.

  123. Mustafa ElJali AbuGhrarah - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army.

  124. Mohamed Waneess ElRa’edh - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army

  125. Jamal Mahmud ElSba’ii - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army

  126. Yehya Ali Yehya Muammar - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army

  127. Mohamed Hashim ElHadheri - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army

  129. Salim ElTahir ElMani - May 8th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in the battle of Bab-El-Aziziyah between the NFSL and the army

  130. Majdi Mohamed ElShweyhdi - May 16th 1984 – Member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in clashes with the Libyan Security Forces for his participation in the Bab-El-Aziziyah attack.

  131. Salim Ibrahim ElQlali – May 16th 1984 – A former soldier in the Libyan Army, and a member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was killed in clashes with the Libyan Security Forces for his participation in the Bab-El-Aziziyah attack

  132. Dr. Amru Khalifa ElMani – May 1984 – A writer, poet, and university professor. He was arrested several times during 1971-1973 and finally again on October 21st 1981. He was subject to extreme forms of torture. After Bab-El-Azizyah, the heat turned up on all prisoners, and El Mani was killed in prison while his home was bulldozed in front of his wife and children.

  133. Abdullateef El Mani – May 1984 – A soldier in the Libyan Army. He was tortured to death after being taken in a series of post-Bab-El-Azizyah arrests.

  134. Mohamed Saeed ElShebani – June 3rd 1984 – A businessman and an Imam (a member of the NFSL). He was hanged in public at Tamzeen, a town close to Nalut during the month of Ramadan. He was convicted of aiding the Bab-El-Azizyah attempt.

  135. Sassi Ali Sassi Zakri – June 3rd 1984 – Businessman and member of the NFSL. He was hanged in the city of Nalut during the month of Ramadan for helping the Bab-el-Azizyah attack.

  136. Ahmed Ali Ahmed Suleiman – June (Ramadan) 3rd 1984 – Businessman and member of the NFSL. He was hanged in public in the city of Nalut for aiding the Bab-el-Azizyah attack.

  137. Othman Ali Zerti – (Ramadan) June 5th 1984 – A merchant and a member of the NFSL. He was hanged in the courtyard of Sook-el-Jumua in the city of Tripoli for his involvement in the Bab-el-Azizyah attack. After hanging him publicly and in front of his family, his home was also bulldozed in front of them.

  138. ElSadiq Hamid ElShwehdi – (See video page) – (Ramadan) June 5th 1984 - An engineer and a member of the NFSL. He was hanged at the central gymnasium in Benghazi for helping with the Bab-el-Azizyah attack.

  139. AbdulBari Omar Fnush- (Ramadan) June 7th 1984 – Engineer and member of the NFSL. He was hanged in public for providing assistance for the Bab-el-Azizyah attack.

  140. ElMehdi Rajab Leyas – (Ramadan) June 7th 1984 – Student and member of the NFSL. He was hanged publicly in the city of Tubruq for his involvement with Bab-el-Azizyah.

  141. Farhaat Amaar Hilb – June 10th 1984 - Engineer and member of the NFSL. He was hanged publicly in the city of Zwara for his involvement with Bab-el-Azizyah.

  142. Salih AbuZeyd ElShteeti – June 21st 1984 - Businessman. He was assassinated by security forces in Athens, Greece. The Greek authorities were unable to locate the culprits.

  143. Ateeh Salih ElFartaas – July 3rd 1984 – A student. He was tortured and later killed in his own apartment in Athens, Greece. The operation was undertaken by members of the revolutionary infomittees. The Greek authorities were unable to locate the criminals.

  144. AbdulMin’im El Zawi – July 3rd 1984 – Student. He was tortured and killed at his apartment in Athens, Greece (same with above #142) by members of the revolutionary infomittees.

  145. Mohamed ElKhamsi – September 19th 1984 – Businessman. He was murdered by security forces in his hotel room in the Italian capital of Rome. The Italian authorities were never able to locate the culprits.

  146. Mari’i Mohamed Mukhtar – November 26th 1984 – A soldier in the Libyan Army, and member of Battalion 276. He was executed on charges of participating in ‘un-revolutionary’ action.

  147. Mohamed Hilal – Late 1984 – Government employee. He was convicted of being a member of the Ba’ath party. He was arrested initially in early 1984, but his sentence was reviewed once again by the revolutionary infomittees. Soon after he was tortured and killed in prison.

  148. Abdullah Mohamed Hamooda – November 29th 1984 – A businessman from Benghazi. He was arrested in April 1984 on allegations that he was a member of the Islamic Freedom Party. He was tortured to his death 7 months later; the regime refused to surrender the corpse to the family for burial.

  149. Ahmed Mohamed ElWahdi – Late 1984 – Government Employee. He was tortured and killed in prison.

  150. ElAarif Abu Shaqoor – January 31st 1985 – A student of medicine at Tripoli University. He was arrested in 1979 for distributing anti-government flyers and for possessing a firearm in his home (it was a ww2 relic). He sustained critical injuries after being tortured and beaten while under arrest. He was taken to hospital afterwards but to no avail; he died from his injuries.

  151. Ahmed Rafiq ElBerani – April 2nd 1985 – He was assassinated by Gaddafi’s security forces at his office in Cyprus.

  152. Gibreel AbdulRazaq ElDenali – April 6th 1985 – A former police officer and a member of the NFSL. Gaddafi’s hit squads opened fire on him in the city of Bonn, West Germany on April 5th, 1985. He died the next day from the injuries he sustained in the attack.

  153. Mahmood Buzo – July 1st 1985 – A businessman. He was assassinated by Gaddafi’s men in Paris, France.

  154. Ali El Feitouri ElMisrati – July 1985 – infomander in the Libyan Army. He was killed in a planned car crash on suspicion of his participation in anti-government activity.

  155. AbdulWahid ElZanqi – August 1985 – A student of agriculture at the University of Tripoli. He was arrested along with 70 other students in a security crackdown. He was tortured and killed in prison.

  156. Rafiq ElBashti – August 1985 – A student of agriculture at the University of Tripoli. He was arrested along with 70 others during a security crackdown. He was tortured and killed in prison; the regime did not release his corpse to his family for burial.

  157. El Sheikh ElMabrook Gheith ElTarhouni – September 1985 – A PhD in engineering. He was assassinated by Gaddafi’s security forces on his Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. His body was discovered, cut into pieces, inside a travel bag in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

  158. Mustafa Meylud ElSweyhli – October 1985 – Student. He was assassinated by Gaddafi’s security forces in the city of Madrid, Spain.

  159. Fathi Hassan ElBarji – November 1985 – A 1st Lieutenant in the Libyan Army from Benghazi. He was arrested along with many others during a security crackdown on army officers for suspected action against the regime. He was executed by firing squad in one of the barracks.

  160. Hussein ElNimr ElRafadi – 1985 – A businessman. He was assassinated by a hit squad in Poland.

  161. Faraj Eldebani – 1985 – Businessman. His body was discovered killed inside ElDeibani
    Mosque in Derna, Libya. What happened is not exactly certain, but the evidence points to the revolutionary infomittees.

  162. Sa’eed Salih ElZawaq ElZawi – 1985 – A businessman from Kufra. He was tortured and killed in prison for taking part in action against the regime.

  163. Hussein Haddya Sweyd – March 1986 – A university student from Tripoli. He was arrested in 1983 while on a visit from England where he was studying. He was convicted of contacting and aiding the opposition outside Libya, and was tortured for 3 years before he was killed in 1986 without a trial.

  164. Salem Mohamed ElGhali – March 1986 – An engineer. He was arrested in September 1983 for contacting the opposition outside Libya. He endured severe torture before he was killed without trial.

  165. ElSharif ElGhoul – March 1986 – Government employee; technological magistrate. He was arrested in September 1983 followed by 3 years of torture before being executed in prison without trial.

  166. Faheem Awadh Hussein – March 1986 – A student from the town of El-Beydha. He was arrested by order of the revolutionary infomittees and was executed in the Abu Salim prison without trial.

  167. Sabri Sa’ad Shadi – April 6th 1986 – Lieutenant in the Libyan Air Force. He was killed in a planned fighter jet crash in Sebha. His loyalty was not satisfactory to the regime.

  168. Fu’ad Badr ElDeen ElQanashi – April 1986 – Businessman. He was tortured and killed after being arrested in early 1986 for participating in action against the regime.

  169. Mohamed Ashur – May 1st 1986 – Former Libyan diplomat. He was found shot to death at public park in West Berlin. The German authorities were not able to locate the culprits.

  170. Ismael Hassan El Sanusi – August 5th 1986 – An engineer and a member of the military wing of the NFSL. He was hanged in public in the city of Waddan for aiding the NFSL fighters at Bab-el-Azizyah, despite the people’s congress decision that he should be given a jail sentence instead.

  171. Siraj ElDeen ElJundi – August 1986 – Laborer. He was killed in prison via poison for alleged involvement with opposition movements abroad.

  172. ElTahir ElRa’eess – October 1986 – Businessman. He died in prison from injuries sustained from torture, and utter lack of medical attention.

  173. El Hadi ElShawish – Late 1986 – A captain in the Libyan Air Force. His airplane exploded just as it began its launch. Gaddafi’s men killed him for no reason other than his disgust with the regime’s policies and laws especially after an uprising in the Tarhuna Barracks.

  174. Suleiman El’Azabi – October 1986 - A student at the military academy. He was tortured and killed in prison after he was arrested on suspicion of his participation in ‘un-revolutionary behavior’.

  175. Faraj Salama ElMazughi – 1986 – Officer in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was gunned down in prison after being arrested for setting ablaze the vehicle of the head of security in Ajdabiya; Musbah Gaddafi.

  176. Mohamed Ashur Fheyma – January 7th 1987 – Businessman from Tripoli and a member of Libyan National opposition group. He was assassinated by security forces in Athens, Greece. The authorities were never able to find the perpetrators.

  177. Hassan ElKasheek – 1987 – Artisan. He was convicted of distributing anti-government flyers and was tortured to death in prison.

  178. Salim Eessa – January 1987 – CEO of the Security Merchandise infopany. He was found killed in shady scenario at his office in Tripoli. The revolutionary infomittees had assassinated him; but of course no investigations take place.

  179. Nasir Eldeen ElKeyb – January 1987 – Lieutenant in the Libyan Army. He was executed by firing squad for opposing and refusing to fight the war in Chad.

  180. Ahmed Mohamed Ali ElFallaah – February 17th 1987 - Student. He was executed publicly hanging from a noose in the basketball gymnasium in Benghazi. Ahmed was convicted of killing one of the infamous leaders of the revolutionary infomittees; Ahmed Musbah El-Warfalli.

  185. Sami Abdullah ElZedani – February 17th 1987 - Student. He was executed publicly hanging from a noose in the basketball gymnasium in Benghazi. Ahmed was convicted of killing one of the infamous leaders of the revolutionary infomittees; Ahmed Musbah El-Warfalli.

  186. Ali Ahmed AbdulRazaq El’Asheybi – February 17th 1987 – Officer in the Libyan Armed Forces. He was executed by firing squad inside the Special Forces base for taking part in the assassination of one of the infamous revolutionary infomittee leaders; Ahmed Musbah ElWarfelli.

  187. Munir Mohamed AbdulRazaq Munaa’ – February 17th 1987 – A soldier of the Libyan Army. He was executed by firing squad inside the Special Forces base in Benghazi for taking part in the assassination of infamous revolutionary infomittee member Ahmed Mubsah elWarfelli.

  188. Salih AbdulNabi El’Abaar – February 17th 1987 – A soldier of the Libyan Army. He was executed by firing squad inside the Special Forces base in Benghazi for taking part in the assassination of infamous revolutionary infomittee member Ahmed Mubsah elWarfelli.

  189. Mohamed ElMuthnani – April 1987 – Employee of the National Oil infopany, Tripoli. He was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Malta. It is believed that it was the work of the revolutionary infomittees for Mohamed’s connections with members of the opposition groups. No investigation took place.

  190. Jameela Abdullah – June 1987 – Housewife. She was killed via poison after she was arrested and interrogated by the intelligence agents of Gaddafi.

  191. Mohamed El Tahir ElRayiss – June 1987 – Businessman from Misrata. He was tortured and killed in prison in the same circumstances as his father a year earlier.

  192. Yousef Salih Kharbesh – June 26th 1987 – Businessman. President of the NFSL in Egypt. He was assassinated in Rome, Italy, by Gaddafi’s security forces. Italian authorities arrested 2 of the criminals, Sa’ad El Tarhuni and Omar Elqamodi. The third criminal Jabir Zaghdud escaped.

  193. Hussein Zayid ElKadiki – 1987 – Brigadier pilot and infomander of the Air Defense Force. He was killed in a planned car crash because his loyalty to the regime was unsatisfactory.

  194. Noori Suleiman Leyas – November 1987 – infomander in the Libyan Army. He was killed in a planned car crash because of suspicions about his loyalty to Gaddafi.

  195. ElHamali El’Amami – 1987 – Businessman. He was killed in prison after being arrested for writing anti-Gaddafi Comments on a wall in the Sedi Yunis area of Benghazi, Libya.

  196. Adam Sa’eed AlHawaz – Early 1988 – First Minister of Defense after the military coup of 1969. In December of 1969 he was arrested for plotting against the regime. He was sentenced to death by firing squad but it was never implemented. Instead he remained in prison in solitary confinement without medical attention until his death in 1988.

  197. Omar ElWahdi – 1988 – A captain in the Libyan Army. He was arrested in December 1969 for participating in an attempted coup against Gaddafi. He was tortured for many years in prison until he was finally killed in 1988.

  198. AbdulQadir Mohamed ElYa’qoobi – June 1988 – Student. He was arrested during a widespread security crackdown in April 1973. He was convicted of being a member of the Freedom Party, and was given numerous sentences. Finally in 1983, he was sentenced to death, but by then he had sustained major brain damage from the severe torture he endured while in prison. Mentally handicapped and destroyed, they killed him in June 1988 in prison.

  199. Mansur El’Abaar – January 1989 – Businessman. He was killed by the military when a tank destroyed his home while he was inside. He refused to surrender or to be arrested and thus the only logical course of action for the regime would be to attack his home with a tank.

  200. Taha Jalul – January 20th 1989 – Student of medicine at University of Tripoli. He was killed when security forces opened fire on a crowd in a demonstration outside the stadium against the government after a world cup qualifying game between Libya and Algeria was cancelled.

  201. Ahmed Hweissa – 1989 – Officer in the Libyan Army. He was killed in a planned plane crash in Sebha on suspicion of his loyalty to the regime.

  202. ElSansu ElDabri – 1989 – An officer. He was killed in the same plane crash as Ahmed Hweissa.

  203. Sa’eed Madi – March/April 1989 – Businessman. Killed by security forces during crackdown in Benghazi after an incident in Ajdabiya which Gaddafi later referred to in his October 7th speech later that year.

  204. Mohamed ElFaqi – March/April 1989 – Government employee. Killed by security forces during crackdown in Benghazi after an incident in Ajdabiya which Gaddafi later referred to in his October 7th speech later that year.

204-211. El Sheikh Salih - May 1989 – Imam of the Ebi Mishmasha Mosque in Tripoli. He was executed along with 7 of his followers from “Ghowt El-Rumman” in Tripoli.

212-221. September 1989 – 10 soldiers were executed one of the bases in southern Libya for taking part in action against the regime. Gaddafi referred to them as an example in his October 7th speech in front of what is known as the annual General People’s Congress in Tripoli. He claimed that he ordered their execution because these soldiers cut and burned down trees during the war in Chad.

222. Salem ElZa’idi – Late 1989 – A captain in the Libyan Army. He was arrested during a crackdown on young men who were considered religious during late 1989. He was tortured to death in prison.

Dr. Mohamed ElMujrab – November 1989 – University Professor. He was arrested in May 1983 after the Bab-el-Azizyah attack on Gaddafi. He endured brutal torture and was never given a trial; not that a real trial exists in Libya. He died in prison from his injuries and a infoplete lack of medical attention.

Sa’ad Abdullah ElBar’asi – January 27th 1991 – An employee of the Benghazi Electricity Institution. He was killed outside a TV station in Benghazi after the guards opened fire on him.

On December 22nd of 1992, a passenger flight from Benghazi to Tripoli was downed by order of Gaddafi. The brotherly leader of the revolution blamed the crash on UN sanctions on Libya; the sanctions prevented Libya from buying the necessary equipment for the maintenance of their planes.  116 Libyans and 41 foreigners; a total of 157 were killed on this flight:

Ibrahim Bakkar - January 2nd 1993 – A former minister of Justice. He was killed near his hometown of Ajaylat in a planned car crash on his return from Tunisia for medical treatment. He was killed due to his knowledge of the Libyan passenger flight from Benghazi to Tripoli that resulted in the deaths of 157 people.

Budhai ElBakkush – October 1993 – A major in the military intelligence of the Libyan Army. He was tortured to death after being arrested on October 12th 1993 for participating in an attempted coup against Gaddafi.
