Press release
15th November 2006
Dr. Idrees Abofayed was jailed in Libya for voicing his opinion
by writing a letter on the internet describing that the Libyan central
intelligence (Mukhabrat) been to his residence at late night interrogating him
twice then he was jailed. This is to show that the dictator regime is still
confiscating freedom of speech and writing in the Libya. This is contrary to
the international civil liberty law that states freedom of speech and writing
is civil right for every one.
Dr Idrees is an opposition member, he decided to go back to
Libya and he was calling the Libyan people to stand up for their rights.
Imprisonment of opposition activist Idrees Bofyed in Libya
shows that there is no freedom of expression in Libya and the people still
ruled by a dictator regime, which does not allow freedom of expression.
Therefore, we call upon all human rights activist and TV channels to take up
the story and put pressure on Gaddafi regime to free all prisoners of
conscious in Libya.
